Für die Weblog-Plattform WordPress.com gibt es neuerdings für 5$/Monat eine wirklich nette Video-Integration à la YouTube oder Vimeo. Hochgeladene Videos können automatisch in verschiedenen Qualitätsstufen bis zur HD-Qualität eingebunden werden (das alles ohne bröseliges FLV-Video, sondern schön scharf mit H.264).
Aber das richtig Interessante daran ist, dass der Flash-Video-Player und der Transcoder im Quellcode verfügbar sind, d.h. man kann (allerdings mit ein bisschen technischen Wissen) eine eigene Video-Plattform mit automatischer Video-Konvertierung einrichten.
Ob das sinnvoll ist, sei einmal dahingestellt, schließlich erzeugen derartige Videos hohe Traffic-Kosten, aber schon allein die Möglichkeit zu haben, gefällt mir…
WordPress Video Solution Framework (mit Download)
Some people have asked me how to change the “Siriux” theme for “Gallery 2″:http://gallery.menalto.com/ (the newest version is included in the Gallery distribution!) to make it display the View Counts for each Album. So here we go:
* Make a copy of themes/siriux/templates/album.tpl to themes/siriux/templates/local/album.tpl (see “here”:http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Editing_Templates for details)
* Add this line to the <div class="meta"> ... </div> section:
{g->text text="Views: %d" arg1=$child.viewCount}
* It works nice after the first {if …} block, but you can place it whereever you want.
Die Photos in der “Bilder-Galerie”:http://siriux.net/photos/ werden jetzt schärfer dargestellt (zumindest die neueren, für die höherauflösende Versionen online verfügbar sind), das ist das Ergebnis von ein bisschen Fummelei an den “Gallery”:http://gallery.menalto.com/ Einstellungen.
Momentan müht sich der Webserver noch mit der Neuberechnung der Bilder ab…

Again some contributions to several Free Software projects:
eCard functionality is one of the “top-requested features”:http://gallery.menalto.com/sfvote of Gallery 2.0 (see “summary”:http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1249531&group_id=7130&atid=357130), its predecessor Gallery 1.x can do it and I need it for a customer. So I wrote a small plugin module.
It lets the user fill out his name/e-mail, the receipient’s name/e-mail and a short text and generates plain-text or HTML mails. Feel free to test it.

Due to popular demand: here is a slightly cleaned-up and de-branded version of the “Gallery 2.0″:http://gallery.menalto.com/ theme I use for my “Photo Gallery”:http://siriux.net/photos/. It does still have some rough edges however.
It is designed to be *very simple* and can be customized *very easily* because of its simplicity and the extensive use of CSS. You can even re-add those lovely prev/next arrows if you don’t mind juggling with HTML/CSS a little bit.
